We, The Mers

Do you often gaze into the sea and wonder who's gazing back at you ?
Many of us fish are in almost every area of the shore, and, aside from the flounders, the extremely tiny fish, the shell people and some of the crabs, you probably will see us - not the Mers, of course, since we only let ourselves be seen on very rare occasions, but we will see you.
It's very easy for us to see through the water, though a little ripply, it's true.
We notice what you do, and who does what, and what types of beings you are.
We classify you, in our own way, although we tend to think of humans as a whole as a parasitic and destructive specie, bent on destruction of every habitat, even of its' own, and of the entire planet, due to a defective genetic structure, primitive cultural myths, and insectile societal structures.
Of course, there are gentle humans, kind ones, compassionate ones, who harm no one.
These, we hope, will become the norm, if we all survive long enough.
Just as you classify and sort different species, and types of each specie, so, too, do we sort humans.
We don't approve of zoos, and frankly, we're not interested in seeing you more than we have to, but just as you might know which breed of snake is venomous, and which, benign, so, too, we learn at an early age which type of human is most to be avoided.
We have much to contend with, these days, with the pollution humans continue to heap on the world, and so much of it drifts into the sea. The Mers all spend our fair share of time cleaning debris out of the sea, and, of course, clearing our fellow sea beings, like dolphins, whales, and sea turtles, from those horrible fishing nets many of your more worthless nations allow.
I'm going now, down to make sure the sea people in my area are OK - I thought I'd felt a sound just now, and I want to make sure that it wasn't of someone who needs help.
I'll transmit more to Ocean later.
